Yet, Business Times is reporting that almost 40% of Singapore companies are greenhushing. Let's not let that discourage us because the good news is that clean tech remains mission critical for Singapore.

1. GRI updates biodiversity standard to meet stakeholder demand 


The Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) has released an updated version of its biodiversity standard, GRI 101: Biodiversity 2024, in response to the growing need for companies to provide information on their biodiversity impacts.


This update is particularly important as biodiversity is declining worldwide, and the new standard aims to assist in reversing this trend and managing associated risks.




 

2. Impact Portfolio Construction Yesterday, Today, and Tomorrow


A new discussion paper from Impact Frontiers, reviews impact-driven portfolio construction and optimization across asset classes:

  • showcases real-world examples of investors integrating impact considerations into their asset allocation strategies.

  • emphasizes the need to consider impact not only in manager and security selection but also in asset allocation.

  • explores both strategic and tactical asset allocation techniques and suggests that focusing on the latter may be more practical.

  • And it provides valuable insights and recommendations for professionals seeking to align their investments with sustainability goals.



 

3. Media Coverage of Climate Change is Dropping


Green Queen shares that even as we breached the 1.5°C post-industrial warming limit and recorded the hottest temperatures ever, 2023 saw media coverage of climate change drop by 4%, according to a review by the Media and Climate Change Observatory.The report suggests that there may have been competing interests and priorities in the media landscape, leading to a decrease in coverage of climate change.
