Dear SFi community,
Our hearts are heavy as we, along with the rest of Hong Kong, mourn the profound loss caused by the tragic Tai Po fire. We hold the families and broader affected communities in our thoughts, and we have been deeply moved by the compassion and solidarity shown across the city in the subsequent days. We also wish to express our sincere respect and gratitude to the courageous individuals who placed themselves in harm’s way to protect others. In this time of sorrow, we are reminded of the strength, resilience, and compassion that defines our city, as we stand together in support of all those affected.
The road to recovery, both physical and mental, will be long for the families affected. If you would like to contribute to the effort, our friends at HandsOn Hong Kong have compiled a useful guide for your consideration.
Growing Momentum: SFi’s 2025 Impact Highlights
2025 has been a year of meaningful growth for SFi — not only as an organisation, but as a community committed to driving genuine impact.
This year, we expanded our flagship SFi Impact Summit into SFi Impact Week 2025, welcoming more than 250 leading family offices, private investors, and ecosystem builders from Hong Kong, across APAC, and beyond. As part of Impact Week, we also launched the SFi Impact Retreat, an exclusive closed-door gathering of 55 major families and asset owners from around the world, where shared learnings were deepened and new opportunities for catalytic collaboration began to take shape.

2025 was also a year of new ventures. In September, we undertook SFi’s first Impact Roadshow, convening impact‑minded asset owners from Hong Kong and Singapore to explore the full potential of capital across its continuum. We also launched our SFi Impact Access series — quarterly gatherings connecting the SFi community with expert insights on regional and global impact investing trends, as well as leading investment opportunities.
In partnership with the Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation, SFi co‑hosted the 9th Ocean Innovators Platform in October — the first time the event has been held in Hong Kong. The event became a confluence of energy and optimism, as cross-sector leaders moved beyond discussions as they actively forged new pathways spanning ocean conservation and impact finance for our region and around the world. When we lean into partnerships and alignment, progress becomes truly tangible.

Looking ahead to 2026, our expanded SFi Impact Week 2026 will take place in Hong Kong from 1-5 June, with the flagship SFi Impact Summit confirmed for 3 June. This promises to be a transformative week of purposeful convening and collective action, as we ramp up our commitment to advancing impact investing by harnessing Asia Pacific’s momentum to drive global change. As always, our passionate and growing team will bring our members fresh opportunities to learn, connect, and invest for impact.
Thank you for your ongoing commitment and support, your generosity with ideas and connections, and your courage in helping SFi grow in both depth and influence. Let’s continue building momentum together, to positively impact the broader ecosystem we collectively serve.
SFi Impact Access Series: Connecting Investors and Changemakers
On 5 December, we hosted our final SFi Impact Access session of the year — bringing together fund managers, investors, and changemakers to explore what it truly takes to scale climate solutions, strengthen climate‑resilient food systems, and expand access to assistive technology across emerging markets.

Over a morning of rich discussions, Mandala Capital highlighted how climate‑resilient agri‑food SMEs in South and Southeast Asia are becoming vital to the region’s adaptation efforts.Wellington Management shed light on the growing momentum behind asset‑light climate solutions powered by AI, robotics, and software, and Disability Impact Partners shared how they are working to close the 80% assistive‑technology access gap across the Global South through innovative, venture‑building approaches.
What united the room was a shared conviction that the most enduring impact comes from backing businesses solving real, local challenges — from smallholder farmers facing climate stress, to municipalities managing rising flood risks, to patients seeking affordable, high‑quality rehabilitation tools — whilst delivering strong, risk‑adjusted returns for investors.

We invite Family Office Principals, Private Investors of an endowment or foundation, or NextGen Investors to reach out to us to find out more about the benefits of joining the Sustainable Finance Initiative community. Don't miss out on members' only opportunities, and contact us today!
