We were pleased to host Elaine Siu from The Good Food Institute Asia and Eric Ng at Happiness Capital at our first Smart Conversation this year, sharing their knowledge, experience and projections around alternative protein.
Starting with the thematic backdrop, we quickly went deeper into emerging technologies and the race to scale, followed by Eric’s open sharing of Happiness Capital’s impact outcome framework with regards to their Food & Agri tech portfolio, and finally SFi provided a bird’s eye view of the investment universe as well as presenting an impact framework for alternative protein producers. With thoughtful questions from the audience around the complexity of the space, scale-up challenges, long investment life span and indirect consequences, it was an interactive session and provided much food for thought.
