Hello Impact Ecosystem!
We hope everyone had an enjoyable holiday season, and have returned well rested and ready to make 2025 a more impactful year than ever! SFi officially kicked off 2025 with our members at our Welcome Back Drinks, and also started the year strong on the thought leadership front, speaking as a panelist at the International Forum for Impact.
We have many other exciting initiatives planned for the coming year, so make sure you stay connected with us to keep abreast of the latest and greatest!
Kicking off an impactful 2025 with the SFi Community
SFi officially kicked off 2025 with our members and SFi community at our Welcome Back Drinks on 9 January. We exchanged our "hits and misses" for the past year, discussed trends we are seeing in the sector, and made our action plans for 2025.
There was a shared desire for increased exchange and collaboration over the coming year, which the SFi team is happy to oblige with our planned events and programmes for 2025, the highlight of which will be our SFi Impact Week from 19-23 May, which includes the annual SFi Impact Summit in Hong Kong on 21 May. Momentum growing in Asia for Sustainable Finance
On 7 January, our CEO Katy Yung was invited to speak on the “Leverage Wealth for Impact” panel at the International Forum for Impact investing. In an invigorating discussion, it was clear the Asian impact investing market is rapidly growing, with the Global Impact Investing Network reporting that 89% of Asia-focused impact investors are reporting financial returns exceeding or matching expectations. This is in line with our findings from our 2024 survey of family offices, where 62% of respondents reported that their impact investments met or over-performed their financial return targets.
With Asia’s impact investment market projected to grow to USD1.5 trillion in the coming years, it was suggested that case studies and carve out portfolios can be used to build the track record and investor experience needed for catalysing capital flow into impact investing. Spotlighting the growing interest for sustainable finance among Chinese HNWIs, the panellists agreed further ecosystem support will be needed to translate interest into action and deployment.

Building on the success of the SFi Impact Summit in 2024, this year promises to be bigger, bolder and better than ever with SFi Impact Week taking place in Hong Kong from 19-23 May. Headlined by our flagship SFi Impact Summit 2025 on 21 May, Impact Week 2025 will be a dynamic week filled with dialogue, workshops and networking events dedicated to advancing impact investing across Asia Pacific and beyond, showcasing the SFi community's collective power and impact.
