Hello Impact Community,

September is shaping up to be one of our busiest months yet. Our CEO Katy Yung will be speaking at the Philanthropy for Better Cities Forum alongside Charles Li of Micro Connect.  We also have a full slate of events lined up around Hong Kong Green Week (Sept 7–11), including: SFi Impact Access, our first breakfast gathering in 2H 2026, and a Blended Finance in Action workshop co-organised with Convergence and the Hong Kong Green Finance Association. In addition, we will co-host a SFi Meet the Founder fireside chat, featuring Jonathan Rose, a third-generation real estate leader who's turned green, affordable housing into a scalable model.

Our team is also proud to share the results from our SFi Family Office Impact Survey 2026, revealing a deepening conviction for impact investing amongst Family Offices and private investors.

Read on for fresh insights on impact investing, what's coming up next, and the latest developments in the impact space.

Just Released: SFi Family Office Impact Survey 2026

SFi March 2025 Newsletter

We're excited to share the results of this year's SFi Family Office Impact Survey, conducted with 121 family office representatives and asset owners across Asia Pacific and beyond. Our key finding: conviction is deepening and becoming more sophisticated.

A growing share of respondents are going all-in, with 27% now allocating more than half their portfolio to impact and ESG strategies, up from 17% last year, whilst a fresh wave of investors are still just dipping their toes in. Access to deal flow remains everyone's biggest challenge for a third consecutive year running, and for the first time, systems investing has overtaken opportunistic allocation as the go-to way family offices structure their impact exposure.

There's plenty more in there too, from a growing focus on Food and Agriculture, to a genuinely split verdict on whether commercial space investment belongs in an impact portfolio.

Lessons from the Founders Building Impact Ventures

SFi March 2025 Newsletter

In the first part of our new SFi Founder Interview Series, we asked founders from the SFi Innovation Lab to talk about what it actually takes to build an impact venture. They reflect on the personal moments that first pulled them into the problem, the harder lesson that impact alone doesn't close a sale, and the assumptions investors still get wrong about businesses like theirs – such as "cheaper is good enough" and "better tech will fix behaviour."

These are the parts of building a company that rarely make it onto a pitch deck, but are often exactly what keeps a founder going.
