Meet 2023 Earthshot Winners: GRST

Meet Justin Hung of GRST, the 2023 winners of the prestigious EarthShot Prize! 

Co-Founded in 2015 by Justin Hung and Bill Ho and based in the Hong Kong Science and Technology Park, GRST has invented a water-based manufacturing technology that could cut the emission of greenhouse gases by up to 40 per cent during the production of lithium-ion batteries and by up to 80 per cent during recycling. The Company has started commercial production at its 1GWh factory earlier this year and is winner of the 2023 EarthShot Prize.

Co-Founder Justin Hung will share the challenges faced by the existing method of Li-ion battery production and recycling and how the patented GRST production process can help tackle these problems and reduce the negative impact on the environment.
